Starting Streamate broadcast
Start Streamate broadcast
After you have logged into your webcam profile, you can proceed to start broadcasting on Streamate:
- To start a Streamate broadcast, click the big blue button "Streamate connect"
- A new page will open - a room for broadcasting. Allow your browser to use your camera and microphone:
- Then, in the pop-up window, read the basic rules for broadcasting on the Streamate platform and check the boxes next to them. After that, click the "Accept" button:
- Streamate by default involves the use of special software for broadcasting (OBS or SplitCam). However, if you do not use one and want to start the broadcast simply in the browser, then you need to switch the Encoder. To do this, in the top menu on the right, click "Settings":
- In the window that opens, change the encoder to "web encoder". Additionally, you can adjust other parameters:
- Microphone - the list may include your hardware microphone and virtual ones from various programs (OBS, SplitCam and others);
- Camera - in the first field you need to select the camera from which the broadcast will be carried out. The list may contain your real camera and virtual ones from various programs (OBS, SplitCam and others). Select a virtual camera from the list if you use software to process your broadcast;
- Mirror camera - enable this option if you want to mirror the video image while broadcasting;
- Video resolution - this option sets the picture quality of the launched broadcast. It is recommended to leave “auto”
After clicking the "Update" button the window does not close. Therefore, you need to close it yourself by clicking the cross.
- When you change the encoder, the browser prompts you to store files. Click "Allow":
- Click "Start Show":
- Wait for the diagnostics to complete. Then in the window that appears, click "Okay":
- When the connection is tested, your broadcast will start. This will be indicated by the green light "Online":
